Special Weapons and Tactics
Commander: "Kieran Dyer"
Special Weapons and Tactics
Los Santos Police Department's strike, or mobile tactical unit, or as commonly known, the SWAT, team. They provide a significant tactical edge in situations that are deemed too dangerous for regular patrolmen. Some of the main tasks SWAT is entrusted with are kidnapping and hostage-taking intervention, serving high-danger arrest warrants, executing raids and search warrants, and recovering barricaded or otherwise heavily resistant suspects. Applicants for the team must first send in an application which will be thoroughly reviewed, before being interviewed in person, and tested for both physical and mental toughness. Should the applicant prove him or herself to be worthy, and up to the cut, s/he will undergo the training required to become a full-fledged member of the SWAT team. Typically, SWAT is only mobilized for operations within the city of Los Santos.
Internal Affairs
Commander: Alivera Sanchez
The Internal Affairs Unit investigates and discusses alleged misconduct of Los Santos Police Department employees, of Field Staff, and Supervisory Staff. The unit consists of non-public members whom forward information of behavior and actions of employees on duty. As the Internal Affairs Unit itself does not possess the authority to take disciplinary actions it forwards concluded discussions and investigations with their recommended action to the Command and High Command groups which then give the final verdict.
